Your Holiday Home In Paphos

Paphos has a lot to offer its visitors: history, impressive architecture and plenty of activites. A walk through the city to see some of the beautiful churches, a walk along the seafront promenade to the old fort of Paphos or even the archeological site “Tomb of the Kings” just outside of the city. If you have access to a car, then Lara Bay Beach, a beautiful bathing beach, where the water is even warmer than elsewhere on the island is definitely worth a visit. Here is also where, every year in Juli and August, the big sea turtles come to lay their eggs.

If you happen to feel like visiting a market, then the old part of town “Pano Paphos” is the place for you. Apart from the broad offerings for fair prices, there are also a lot of cafés and restaurants for you to relax and enjoy yourself after your shopping trip.

The Fishing Village of Latsi

Another highlight of the northwestern part of Cyprus is the picturesque fishing village of Latsi. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful ocean view with some fresh fish caught by the local fishermen or you can enjoy the view on the island from one of the famous glass bottom boats. Just west of Latsi lies the “Bath of Aphrodite”, whose fresh waters are believed to grant eternal youth to those with the good fortune having come in contact with them. Whether these claims are to be believed, you will have to find out for yourselves.

A Modern Tourist Destination

The area around Paphos offers not only stunning natural views and well preserved historic gems, it is also a well-developed modern tourist destination with activities for all age groups and interests. Right behind the beachfront hotel Alexander the Great, lies “Paphos Water Sports”, with water sport activities for every fancy: Jet skiing, parasailing, banana boating, catamarans, speed boats and many more. If you simply cannot get enough of fun water activities, then “Aphrodite Water Park”, one of the largest and most modern water parks in Cyprus, is only a 15 minutes’ drive away from the city. You can even do this trip by go-carts!

For those of you who are not afraid of heights, a helicopter ride will offer an amazing aerial view of Paphos and its surroundings.

Don’t Forget to Try The Wines!

Due to its warm climate and suitable lands, Cyprus produces a plethora of delicious wines, which you can taste not only in Paphos’ local restaurants and bars, but also at “Kolios Vineyard” located only a short 30 minute drive from the city. Here, you can first hear and learn about the production of wine or skip straight to a sampling of the local production, best enjoyed with a meze, consisting of 16 to 20 small, traditional dishes, while admiring the stunning view over the mountains.
